To put it more eloquently, this Pearl EXL725F/C246 5-piece shell set with Natural Cherry lacquer is a quality product that is well within reach of a starter budget. The rock/fusion shell configuration consists of a large 22 x 18-inch bass drum, with 10 x 7 and 12 x 8-inch toms. A 14 x 14-inch floor tom and a 14 x 5.5-inch snare drum make this a complete pack. You even get a set of hardware: the Pearl 830 hardware pack. This set consists of a bass drum pedal, a snare drum stand and three cymbal stands (including the hi-hat stand). The cymbals themselves are not included, so you are free to choose from the hundreds of available models. If you’re not sure which cymbals would match, you might want to try a cymbal set.

The quality is in the details with these shells. First of all there is the wood that the shells are made of: a 7.5mm thick 6-ply combination of poplar and Asian mahogany. And if the resulting deep, rich sound is not enough, the 45 degree bearing edges offer enhanced resonance and sustain. Thanks to the triple-flanged hoops the attack stays sharp. Both toms also deliver a great performance, thanks to the Opti-Loc tom mounting system, which keeps them firmly in place while allowing them to resonate freely.
